Leakers win Taste of Dorset Award
Leakers Bakery fought off some stiff competition to win at this year's Taste of Dorset Awards, receiving the award for Best Artisan Baker from a shortlist of three which included Long Critchel in Wimbourne and Oxford Bakery, Sherbourne. Judge Rick Payne, Marketing Manager for Hall and Woodhouse Brewery, said that Leakers “epitomises everything that is local, fresh, healthier and seasonal”. We are also delighted that Bridport received the award for Best Food Town – a real boost for Bridport's high street!

Mad Hatters Tea Party
Bridport's first Mad Hatter's Tea Party was a sell out success and the Bull Hotel's glorious ballroom provided the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of music and magic. Mr and Mrs Snook of Hatters and Outfitters Snooks of Bridport www.snooksthehatters.co.uk judged some wonderfully colourful and creative entries with the winner receiving a fantastic £25 prize.

New Stockist
We are delighted that Home Farm Shop in Tarrant Gunville, the treasure store of fine foods, are now stocking our bread. As well as their own free-range livestock and home cooked meals, Home Farm Shop pride themselves on stocking a wide range of foods from across the region.

Leakers Bakery are delighted to supply the Hive Beach Cafe who were recently announced winners of Coast Magazine's prestigious Best Coastal Cafe/ Restaurant Award 2009. Our Floored Cobber and English Muffins can be found alongside the Hive's delicious range of locally caught seafood at their beautifully located restaurant on the jurassic coast in nearby Burton Bradstock.

New Stockist
A large range of Leakers Bread, Cakes and Savouries is now available from Swindon's home of healthy food, Pulse Wholefoods. Swindon-born bakery boss Paul is especially pleased to be supplying Pulse.
Having spent years working on Swindon's Great Western Railworks, Leakers' traditional bakery with its brick floored ovens was not unfamiliar territory. And as a former Pulse customer, Paul's very pleased to have the opportunity to supply their bread.

Bridport Food Festival
Leakers are pleased to be taking part in this summer's Bridport Food Festival which takes place again this year on Asker's Meadows from the evening of Friday 26th and throughout Saturday 27th June.

Anniversary!
Throughout 2009 Leakers celebrates its incredible 95th year of baking bread. Our methods have changed very little since those early days; the techniques of slow mixing and long proving are still used by our bakers today and our bread is baked in a formerly fired oven which dates back to the end of the 50's! We have events planned for this landmark year so please check back for more detials or subscribe to our newsletter.

The fantastic Divine Cafe is now stocking our breads. Gorgeously situated in Cherill in Wiltshire this cafe offers outstanding breakfasts and an equally tempting lunch menu.
